Influenster app - Bargain Hunters

The current VoxBox that I am trying out is the Bargain Hunters VirtualVox. Instead of a typical VoxBox and getting a free item in the mail, I am trying out the new Influenster app and trying out all the new features available at the palm of my hand instead of using a computer. I love using my phone for anything that I can instead of spending time on a computer.

I am getting used to having so many new ways to find different information on any products that are on the Influenster app. Being active in Influenster just got a whole lot easier with the app. I am really excited to try out and use this app as it makes everything so much easier as I am always on my phone and my phone is always with me.

There are so many great new features available with the app. I love bar code scanner feature as you can really scan any product. The option to use the find or bar code scanner is easy to get to throughout using the app. Asking questions and writing reviews for any item is so easy and really take no time at all. This app is really easy to use and takes no time at all to find any of the options you would use in the app.



This will really make life easier when trying to find reviews on any products. Thanks for making it easier with the new app Influenster.

Fekkai Essential Shea Shampoo & Conditioner

I am sorry to say this was one of the most disappointing samples I have received from Influenster. I'm typically raving about how great the samples that I get to try out are. I don't have to love every sample or product that I try and this is one of those products. I am voicing my opinion on this product after giving it a chance.

The Fekkai Essential Shea shampoo and conditioner came in a cute size bottle with the standard Influenster description card and it shows all of the potential products that were being sampled along side of these two. I wish I would have gotten a chance to try some of the other ones to know if it is just the Essential Shea shampoo and conditioner smelled as bad  This shampoo and conditioner smell absolutely terrible. I am sad to say that this product is not worth the money it cost to have a full size of these items. Each individual full size bottle of shampoo and conditioner cost $20. This items is way over priced for the terrible smell these items leave your hair smelling just as bad.

I have to thank Influenster for delivering another sample free of cost. It has been great getting to try out another item for them.

Skintimate Mandarin Burst Shave Gel

I received an awesome full size bottle of Skintimate® Mandarin Burst Moisturizing Shave Gel from Crowdtap. I love getting to try new shaving gels as I always need something to help with getting a close and complete shave of my legs.


This shave gel is tinted a slight orangey pink color which matches the scent. As soon as you spread it on it turns the mostly white with a hint of the pink color. I expected this color change of any Skintimate Shave Gel as previous ones I have used do the same thing. The scent matches the name and is mostly a mandarin orange scent with a slight citrusy notes of lemon.

I am very happy with this product and its is what I know and love about using Skintimate Shave Gels. They continue to come out with a huge variety of new scents all the time. It's always hard when you find a scent you really like and they don't make it the next time you go to buy the product. It am very happy that I was able to try out this product for free thanks again to Crowdtap.

Aveeno Naturals Targeted Tone Corrector

I am overall surprised with the latest sample sent to try from Influenster. I was given a tube of Aveeno Active Naturals Targeted Tone Corrector.

This sample is a very light and creamy lotion This has a very light scent that is not overpowering and makes it a pleasure to apply. It was light enough that I was comfortable applying my typical make up for the day.


I tried this for about a week with my dark under eyes and saw some slight lightening. I got a bit nervous continuing to apply once I got a tan about a week after I started using the product. I will wait until I am no longer tan to continue trying this product.

Review of 2013

Throughout 2013, I have received some great products to try out and have a few favorites that really stand out. I decided that I would pick my top 3 for 2013.

I really have to thank BzzAgent, Influenster, and Crowdtap for these great products that I had a chance to sample and thanks to the companies that supplied them with the products to allow me to try out and get these really awesome samples.

There was some really great products this year and it was really hard to come up with my top three. I had to think about what has really made an appearance in my life after getting to try out the products and what has made an impact that I otherwise would not have thought about.

My third choice is Curel Intensive Healing Cream. This lotion is great for dry skin and it became a favorite with the cold winter weather that came very quickly. I wish I had experienced the weather that came after the trial with BzzAgent had finished as the very cold winter weather was very harsh on my skin and really needed this lotion. I loved that it was unscented and a nice thick lotion that did not feel greasy. It really did absorb quickly into my skin and made a huge difference to how my hands and legs compared to how typically they would become dry and flakey with the winter weather.




My second choice is Pilot FriXion, these erasable pens have become a daily item as I love to write in pen and these really stand up to being erasable and do not feel like the awful erasable pens of my childhood. I love these pens so much that I had to go out and purchase it in blue and get a second purple one as I love purple pens. If you like writing in pen and hate scratching out what you write when you make a mistake these are great pens. I know that they came from the 2012 Cosmo Vox Box but they were a item I wrote about in Jan 2013.




My first choice is Vintage Old Navy Tees. I wear these shirts everywhere as I love layering camisoles and these tees. I took advantage of Black Friday and got a few more for half off as the sale was hard to resist purchasing clothes for myself. These shirts are nice and light weight and really hold up to being worn as much as I wear them out. I still have one of the first ones I owned before being given the chance to purchase them.  These really took the top spot as I can be seen wearing these shirts all the time.

This was a great year of samples and I can't wait to see what items will be sampled over the course of 2014.

Lindt Milk Chocolate Truffles

In my 2013 Rose Vox Box from Influenster, I got a sample of my favorite truffles, Lindt LINDOR Milk Chocolate Truffles. These truffles are absolutely sinful. I really enjoy all good chocolate and Lindt is one of the brands that I have come to know and love. Over the years, I have received various chocolates as a gifts for different things but this is one brand that I find comfort in when I receive it. Lindt Chocolate is a high quality chocolate that melts in ones mouth. The texture is smooth and luscious. This is standards that I expect when I am eating a Lindt truffle.

The Milk Chocolate truffles are a very sweet milk chocolate with a very milky center that reminds me of the consistency
 of Nutella or a chocolate spread. This was a very nice smooth texture and really complemented the chocolate shell of the truffle.

I really enjoyed how cute the little bag that contained one truffle and the coupon to save on purchasing additional truffles was. This was something I have not seen before and I would love to find these small bags as they would be cute favors for a party or even a little gift to those that you may want to give as a small token to. I would love to find a small bag that contains around three truffles to as I would give it as a stocking stuffer or to someone that I am giving a gift card to.

I also received a coupon to purchase additional Lindt Truffles. I did not take advantage of this as I received several bags of Lindt Truffles during the holidays. This was a nice little treat to sample from Influenster.

Kiss Graduation Polish

I received my awesome Kiss Graduation Polish in my Influenster Rose VoxBox. I love painting my nails so this was a treat to get to try this out as it wasn't just one polish it was three in a kit to create a overall look that stands out.

The Kiss Graduation Polishes come in a nice range of colors; black, blue, pink and gold. I got to try out the gold which they are calling exposure. I'm hoping they come out with more colors. The kit includes directions on how to apply the polishes which makes this so simple.

The three polish kit was a nice change to how I typically only paint my nails with a base coat and would place some type of glitter on top and possibly a clear coat to help the glitter last a bit longer. This had the first polish on the entire nail and have that dry completely. The second polish was over less than half of the nail. This was not meant to dry but to have the third glitter polish blend in with the second. This was a neat way of creating additional texture and make the design feel complete.

I really liked how these three polishes worked together and made an awesome look for my nails. I really wish that it would have lasted longer as it seemed to only last a couple days before it began to chip.

I really recommend the gold as I really loved the overall look that it gave to my nails and it was great getting to try out such a unique idea for nail polish. I wish I was able to find the black but it was sold out when I tried to purchase it during the holidays. These would have been great stocking stuffers as well. I hope that I will be able to find the other colors at some point in the future as they would be great additions to my nail polishes.
